Bass, while tight and punchy, does not sound as deep/low as the Ohm and the Advents.
Maybe too smooth with not as much impact as the Ohms or Advents. Weakness - at times at lower volumes can sound a little 'antiseptic' if you know what I mean. Strength - excellent mid range, great detail, smooth and refined, tight and punchy bass, sound excellent when sitting in the sweet spot, not bad when off axis either but definitely not the same, probably the best sounding set when listening at higher volumes (which I can't do often since I live in a condo). That being said here is what I have heard over the past several weeks. So I know I could probably help certain speakers by changing the speaker position. Mind you, all the speakers have been set up in the same location for purposes of listening. Maybe you all will be able to enlighten me after reading what I have observed. I have read a lot about sound stage and imaging and am still not sure I know what any of that really means. For this post I am not including any observations of just a single pair of the Advents.
I have been switching out my speakers a lot in recent weeks and here are my observations.įirst, the 3 sets of speakers are, ADS L730s, Ohm C2s and 2 pairs of the original Advent Loudspeakers in the stacked configuration. The speaker conundrum seems to be a never ending search for the Holy Grail. Haven't posted anything in depth for a bit so this might be a little lengthy.
